I’m not going to get into excuses about why it’s been almost two months since I have posted, but trying to get back into the swing! Lately I have been loving ordering Moscow Mules (probably because I am Russian) or variations of the drink when I go out. I am not huge on vodka (give me a marg any day!) but this drink is pretty light and refreshing–great for summer!
As mentioned, there are many variations, and they are best served in a good ole copper cup with a fancy schmancy handle. Once I get a “grown up house” (ya know, with a washing machine and an icemaker), I will buy myself a set (which can run you near $100 even on Amazon!) Anyway, let’s get back to the booze. I figured, why not make this creation at home? I decided to use vanilla vodka instead of regular to give it a little bit of flavor.
I actually based my drink off Oprah’s recipe, because I like how she threw some mint in there (I guess she drinks these camping?! Oprah goes camping?) So here goes…
1 Ounce Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka (or plain if you don’t do vanilla)
1/2 cup Ginger Beer (I used Reeds because that’s what they had at Sprouts)
(Oprah put in simple syrup but I passed on that)
Throw ‘Em Together
Pour vodka and squeeze lime over ice. Pour ginger beer until it fills the glass and then garnish with lime and mint.
This drink has tons of variations that you could do so let me know if you come up with any!
