Have a lot of leftover lights from Christmas? Probably a lot of leftover wine bottles waiting to get taken out to the recycle bin? Well this project is one that I have been wanting to do for awhile. It is so easy (well, for the most part) and is a great little addition to a living room, porch, kitchen etc.
The hardest part about this is taking the damn labels off of the bottles! I used a hair dryer (didn’t work) and soaked them in a bin or hot water; this loosened them up, but they didn’t float to the surface like Google told me they would. Not. At. All. I had to scrape them off with a knife, and since I didn’t have Goo Gone, I used olive oil because Google told me to. It worked, a little bit.
*Note: There are no pictures of me de-labling these because it was kind of messy and I was tired and irritated.
I guess it isn’t that hard, it just takes patience. I did buy some Goo Gone today and that worked nicely so I recommend that to get the leftover sticky off. in front of the lamp are some of the corks I have been saving for no particular reason. I always try to write on them when I pop open a bottle but never seem to remember!
Now go drink 6 bottles of wine and then make this; the same night.
